Network Rail Property has submitted its plans to transform London Liverpool Street station 🚆 The plans will turn Liverpool Street station into a destination in its own right, improving connections to the wider City and public spaces, and providing a catalyst to delivering the City of London’s plans to secure long-term economic growth, prosperity and opportunity for London and beyond. As Britain’s busiest station, London Liverpool Street currently connects 118 million people a year within London, East Anglia and the east of England. "...the overwhelming response has been that it’s time to get on with making Liverpool Street station the best that it can be,” says Robin Dobson, Network Rail's group property director. Network Rail Property, the country’s biggest owner of brownfield land, is taking a more proactive and assertive role in regeneration. It used to be a net seller of land. Now, through partnerships and driving schemes forward under its own name, Network Rail is creating homes and jobs on underutilised brownfield sites, and generating the funding to upgrade its crumbling Victorian infrastructure.
