If you’re a cleaning company wondering how you can connect with younger people thinking about careers, check out this opportunity to get involved with this exciting The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) and Youth Employment UK event 👍Jason Grimsley UK Cleaning Career Development Zone #youthopportunities Ruth Joseph
In the last four years I have worked at BICSc I have heard constantly of the infamous “next generation” and our need to introduce the cleaning industry to them. Every year at conferences, we have the same conversations and we say that we are still missing 30/40% of our workforce. And yet, we still think that casting our net into a pond that has no “younger fish” with bait that they don’t recognise will some how work. Do we really think we will magically start ‘hooking’ the leaders of tomorrow with this way of doing things? To echo the infamous words of one of my favourite artists, Jack Johnson: “It’s always better when we are together” We are struggling to find our next generation, it’s past the point that we allow inter- industry “competition” or “kudos” to stand in the way of the future of our industry. This is a problem we need to solve together. Myself and my amazing, ! UNDER 30 !, colleague, Matt, have launched the BICSc Youth Event this year. A day where we get to talk to an auditorium filled with young people looking for careers. A day where they hear about OUR industry from US, not someone who has never worked a day in it! A day where young people can bring their cvs and apply for roles that we have available for them! The day will allow full access to young people, careers advisors, teachers and parents coming from the whole of the UK who have an interest in starting their career in cleaning. Panel discussions, career guidance, real time questions, fire side chats, and most importantly - The correct pond AND The right ‘bait’ Actions and not just words! It costs £150 a month per job to advertise on indeed. PER JOB. Sponsorship for a room filled with eager young people starts at £1000 - with unlimited opportunity to the impact you will have and the jobs you can share. Please message me for more information, or email me and Matt at youthevent@bics.org.uk https://lnkd.in/eXVkfCbg What are you actually waiting for?
