On December 19, 2023, in Atlantic City the ribbon was cut on a new apartment building called The James, located on St.James Place in the Orange Loop, and is the first newly constructed apartment building in Midtown since the late 1980’s.
ATLANTIC CITY — A group of developers in the city's Orange Loop retail and entertainment district is set to receive nearly $2.5 million from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority for the construction of a container park at Pacific and Tennessee avenues.
The Tenn Ave AC project will feature a mix of renovated shipping containers and traditional brick-and-mortar development and be used by local farmers and businesses, retailers, artists and educational institutions, according to a news release announcing the award.
MAP 3 Partners LLC, which includes developers Mark Callazzo, Adam Zengel and Paige Washington, received the grant as part of an NJEDA initiative to support communities that faced economic challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"With the financial assistance from the NJEDA, we and others are able to make significant changes to areas of Atlantic City to create new neighborhoods for both visitors and residents to enjoy," said Zengel. “This container park and other revitalization projects underscores my and my partners’ continued commitment to the economic resurgence of the resort, transforming vacant and neglected spaces into vibrant community hubs."
