Federal Staffing Mandate: Preparing for the Facility Assessment Expansion
Pathway Health delves into the final rule to help aging service providers navigate and understand the new guidance.
Recorded May 2024
As providers anticipate the new minimum staffing rule, they will need to also prepare for the expansion of the Facility Assessment to go into effect 90 days after the publication of the final rule.
While the Facility Assessment has been a regulation since Requirements of Participation, Phase 2, the new Facility Assessment will also need to include a formalized staffing plan to maximize recruitment and retention, address staffing for all shifts/days of the week, and adjust based on significant changes in the resident population, behavioral health issues and staff skill sets and more.
